Welcome to the Paranormal blog at TriCitiesBlogs.com.  This blog is meant to be a clearing house for paranormal sightings in the TriCities, discussions on various topics of the weird and unusual and a community of skeptics and believers alike.  Bring your stories, bring your facts, and bring your thick skins.  Let’s keep this friendly, active, and above all, interesting.
I’d like to use this Introduction post as not only an introduction to the blog, but as an introduction space for all active members on the Paranormal blog.  If you’re ready to participate, just post a reply with a little “Hello” and your particular subjects of interest in the paranormal.  Do you like UFOs?  Scientific investigation into paranormal phenomenon?  Ghosts?  Mysticism?  We’ll try to get to every topic of interest in the community.
Currently, I’m not going to insist on any additional rules beyond the standard site rules for this blog.  Over time, I think it will be apparent as to the needs of this community, and as always, the moderator will have full right to enact new regulations regarding the blog.

Send any and all Paranormal stories or blog inquiries to:
alittleton(a)tricities.com
(Replace the (a) with an @ symbol.  This is to confuse the sneaky internet robots.)

Let’s get things rolling!

Aaron, this might be fun.  I am interested in things we don’t understand, but find the lack of scientific analysis or critical thought among most people distressing.  When you consider the stupidity of most people’s religious beliefs, it is not such a stretch to understand why they believe all sorts of things.  I am open to anything possible, but I want to see some convincing evidence.  In any event, it is a fun mind exercise, like any game, puzzle, or study.

BTW, rawbleedorange: what a name!  At least zeta is easy to type!  Lighten up!

@rawbleedorange:

I think the same thing can be said of your topic. Your hypothesis basically states that discussion of paranormal activity is equal to being a nerd. But your logic doesn’t work. All walks of life and culture, crazy or not, have some sort of paranormal story, whether inscribed in tale of a great event or of something of significance than cannot be explained. Aside from that? While paranormal activities come up in the mediums you suggest, yes, but that doesn’t exactly mean that they are insular to that group alone. The media takes those ideas
from the world, no matter how “distorted” they may be to mainstream society. They happen to be outlets to tell a story, nothing more. Sometimes, it even happens to be an entertaining one.

As far as I can tell, nothing on this blog has actually suggested that everything was built by the Alien Rats from Sub-Mars 7 or a Timebat or something. It’s as open to the possibility that it is fake in nature just as much as it could be something more. I’m for one interested in seeing where this goes.

I don’t think “we” have a problem with reality. Nor do you. I think we just like the explore the possibilities just a little bit more.

Take it easy.

I find it telling that you criticize me of “swaying away” from the subject when you spend your entire post ranting inconsequentially about comic books, movies and the other corporate produced media that you so gratefully fill your free time with instead of observing the world and thinking critically. The subject at hand was your closed-mindedness and deep indoctrination by the system that’s preventing you from fully comprehending reality.

PS: Oh, and since you asked, capitalize your sentences, use proper punctuation (periods don’t end questions), space after commas and you’re missing “are” before “a die hard...”

zeta: what a name! what was wrong with my grammar? oh,nothing ! you were just trying to sway away from the subject at hand. it don’t matter what you try to say,,i don’t buy into this crap no more than the global warming crap! it is you who has a problem with reality! so you do love comic books and the sci-fi channel! i would almost bet you’re addicted to online games and just maybe live in mom and dad’s basement!you say you believe in aliens and ufos, and you say my mind has been corrupted.that’s a good one.so i guess you and e.t went to watch the new batman movie? ahhhhh,,you did ,didn’t you?

To rawbleedorange:

I believe it is you, sir, who is scared of reality. Your mind is so deadened by a constant stream of reality television, football and beer that you can’t see what’s going on right in front of your face. It’s not really your fault, though. I can tell from your inability to put together a grammatically correct and coherent sentence that the public education and mainstream media misinformation in this country has gotten to you. Your mind has been corrupted, but if you just open it up to what’s really going on in the world, you can be rehabilitated. There will come a time very soon when we will need as many people as we can get on our side, I hope you will see the truth before then.

Great to see this blog, Aaron.

I’m a computer programmer and part-time paranormal researcher. I look forward to some good discussion here and to sharing some of my more interesting findings in the fields of extra-terrestrial implants, alien contact in pre-history and their influence on human development.

Lately I’ve been involved in research dealing with astral projection, NDE’s and the how this may tie in to haunting and poltergeist related phenomenon.

If you are an abductee, contactee or have experienced any other paranormal phenomenon, I would be very interested in talking to you.
