Once again, the Bristol Herald Courier, TriCities.com and News Channel 11’s Morning Edition are teaming up to give away a free ride to all the action in the Ultimate Bristol Fan Experience.

Each weekday morning starting August 6, 2008 and continuing through August 14, 2008, two lucky race fans’ names will be drawn between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. on New Channel 11 Morning Edition. 

The winners will receive:

OFFICIAL SWEEPSTAKES RULES

1.  No purchase is necessary.

2.  You must be at least twenty-one (21) years old and a legal resident of Tennessee or Virginia at the time of entry to participate or win.

3. This Sweepstakes is subject to all federal, state and local laws. Void where prohibited by law. By entering, Entrants agree to these Official Rules.

4.  One (1) Grand Prize Winner.

5. Fourteen (14) Daily Prize Winners.

6.  Only one (1) entry per household per day.  Limit one (1) Daily Prize per household.

7.  Sweepstakes begins on August 4, 2008, and ends on August 15, 2008.  Deadline for entries into Grand Prize Drawing is August 13, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. EDST.  Deadline for Daily Entries is the day before the scheduled Daily Drawing at 5:00 p.m. EDST.

8.  The geographic scope of this promotion is the state of Tennessee and the Commonwealth of Virginia. The sponsors of this Sweepstakes are Media General Operations, Inc. d/b/a WJHL-TV, TriCities.com, SWVAToday.com and Bristol Herald Courier (collectively “TriCities”).

9 The odds of being a Daily Prize Winner depend upon the number of entries received prior to the stated deadline for any particular Daily Drawing.  The odds of a Daily Prize Winner being selected as a Grand Prize Winner are one (1) in fourteen (14).

ELIGIBILITY

11. Entrants must be at least twenty-one (21) years old and legal residents of Tennessee or Virginia at the time of entry.
12. 13.  Description of prizes:

Grand Prize: Subject to verification of eligibility, one (1) Grand Prize Winner will win:

• Two (2) tickets to the following events:
o Aaron’s 150 & O’Reilly 200 at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, TN on August 20, 2008;
o Food City 250 at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, TN on August 22, 2008;
• One (1) VIP parking pass to the following events:

• Grand Prize Winner will be permitted on start/stop line during Sharpie 500 driver introductions at Bristol Motor Speedway on August 23, 2008;
• Honorable Pit Crew Member for a Nationwide Series driver. Grand Prize Winner will meet the pit crew and have the opportunity to visit the team’s pit box.
• Grand Prize Winner will be accompanied by a NASCAR official and have the opportunity to wave the green flag during Sharpie 500 qualifying;
• One (1) Richard Petty Driving Experience Ride-Along (Ride shotgun in a 2-seat stock car driven by one of our professional instructors for a 3-lap NASCAR qualifying run) redeemable at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, TN on August 21st or 24th, 2008 only;
• $250 BMS Gift Certificate redeemable at the BMS Gift Shop. Good for in-store use only. Expires within one (1) year of issuance. 
• Sponsor Gifts comprised of several different racing branded gifts, such as t-shirts, cups and key chains. Elements of each prize may vary, but each Sponsor Gift will have an approximate value of $5.00.

Grand Prize Winner will be required to comply with all track rules and directions of track employees.  Grand Prize Winner’s participation in the Richard Petty Driving Experience is limited by the rules and regulations governing that experience and Grand Prize Winner may be required to sign separate agreements with Richard Petty Driving experience, including liability releases.  Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) of Grand Prize:  $10,930.

Daily Prizes:

Subject to verification of eligibility, fourteen (14) Daily Prize Winners will receive:

• Two (2) tickets to Aaron’s 150 & O’Reilly 200 on August 20, 2008; and
• Two (2) tickets to the Food City 250 on August 22, 2008.

ARV of each Daily Prize is $160. 

14. Prizes include no transportation or accommodations, except as may be expressly described above. Winners assume sole responsibility for all costs associated with the prizes not explicitly outlined above, including but not limited to any and all other taxes, fees, surcharges on a prize, meals, beverages, tips, souvenirs, hotel accommodations or lodging, transportation, parking fees, and incidentals. Any part of any prize not used by any winner is forfeit and no cash substitute will be offered or permitted. All federal, state and local taxes (if any) are the sole responsibility of the winners. Other restrictions apply.

15. Prizes are not transferable, substitutable, or exchangeable for cash except that TriCities in its discretion may substitute a prize of equal or greater value.  Any such changes will be announced.  If any of the winners fail to meet any eligibility requirement herein, alternate winners will be chosen by random drawing to be held as soon as reasonably practicable after initial winners are determined to be ineligible.  Alternate winners are subject to all eligibility requirements and restrictions of these Official Rules.

TO ENTER

16. Entries will be accepted from August 4, 2008 at 12:01 p.m., until August 13, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. EDST (“Entry Period”).  There are two ways to enter:
(a) Visit http://www.tricities.com during the Entry Period and complete an online entry form; or
(b) Locate the Ultimate Bristol Fan Giveaway official entry form, which can be found in the Bristol Herald Courier, complete the form, and mail it to “Ultimate Bristol Fan Giveaway” c/o News Channel 11 Morning Edition WJHL-TV, 338 East Main Street, Johnson City, TN 37605, providing the following required information: 1) Name, 2) Address, 3) Telephone Number, 4) E-mail Address, and 5) Age, for receipt by TriCities during the Entry Period. 
To be eligible for a Daily Drawing, all entries, regardless of method, must be complete and must be received by TriCities no later than 5:00 p.m. EDST on the day before the scheduled Daily Drawing. To be eligible for the Grand Prize Drawing, all entries, regardless of method, must be complete and must be received by TriCities no later than August 13, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. EDST. Entrants who fail to provide the required information or otherwise fail to comply with the entry requirements will not be eligible to win and will not be notified by TriCities.

SELECTION OF WINNERS

17. Each weekday beginning August 6, 2008 and ending on August 14, 2008, during the morning show at 6:50 a.m. or within a reasonable time thereafter, two (2) names will be randomly drawn from all timely entries received by Tri-Cities by 5:00 p.m. on the day before that drawing. Subject to verification of eligibility, the two persons whose names are so drawn will be declared Daily Prize Winners.  Non-winning entries will roll over to the subsequent Daily Drawings. All entries become the property of TriCities and will not be returned or acknowledged. Limit one (1) Daily Prize per person. 

18. On August 15, 2008, during the morning show at 6:50 a.m., or within a reasonable time thereafter, one (1) name will be selected by a random drawing from all of the Daily Prize Winners. Subject to verification of eligibility, the person whose name is so drawn will be declared the Grand Prize Winner.

19. TriCities will contact all potential winners in accordance with the information supplied by them on their entry forms.  Potential winners may be verified over the telephone at the time and will be asked to provide TriCities valid identification and execute an affidavit of eligibility within twenty-four (24) hours.  Acceptable identification includes a valid driver’s license or other valid picture ID showing name and address.  Faxes will not be accepted.  If TriCities is unable to speak directly to a winner within twenty-four (24) hours from initial attempted notification, or if any potential winner fails to return the required documentation within the time frame stated above or declines to accept the prize, TriCities in its sole discretion may disqualify that winner and select an alternate winner. Alternate winners are subject to all eligibility requirements of these rules. The winners may also be required to sign other legal documents, including tax forms and a release supplied by TriCities, which, among other disclaimers, releases WJHL-TV, Media General Operations, Inc., TriCities.com, SWVAToday.com, the Bristol Herald Courier and a range of subsidiaries, directors, agents, agencies, affiliates, franchisees, promoters, officers, directors, employees and related persons from any and all liability related to this Sweepstakes and the receipt and use of the prize.  The verified prize winners and WJHL will make arrangements for prize delivery or pick up at WJHL, 338 E. Main Street, Johnson City, TN 37601, or the Bristol Herald Courier, 320 Bob Morrison Blvd. Bristol, VA 24201.

20. Entrants agree that WJHL, Media General Operations, Inc., TriCities.com, SWVAToday.com, Bristol Herald Courier, and their affiliates, subsidiaries and/or agencies will not be responsible for the inability to select winners because of reasons beyond Tricities control, such as postal failure, equipment failure, or data storage failure.

MISCELLANEOUS

21. All federal, state and local laws apply.  TriCities shall be entitled to interpret these rules as needed — including but not limited to rules regarding entries, selection of winner, deadlines, restrictions on prizes, and eligibility — and all of its decisions are final.  By entering, Entrants agree to these Official Rules.  TriCities reserves the right to cancel, terminate or suspend this Sweepstakes or any part of this Sweepstakes should any non-authorized intervention, network failure, information storage failure, telecommunications failure, malfunction, or other causes beyond its control, corrupt or impair the security, administration, fairness and/or operation of this Sweepstakes as determined by TriCities in its sole discretion, in which event TriCities will select winners using a random drawing from all non-suspect entries received as of the time of the termination or suspension.  WJHL, Media General Operations, Inc., TriCities.com, SWVAToday.com and Bristol Herald Courier are not responsible for lost, interrupted, or unavailable network, server, or other connections, or for any failed telephone or computer hardware or software, or for any failed, delayed, misdirected, corrupted, or garbled transmissions or errors of any kind, whether human, mechanical, or electronic, for entry forms that are illegible, lost, destroyed, late, misdirected or postage due, or for entries that for any reason are not received by TriCities by the deadlines stated above.  WJHL, Media General Operations, Inc., TriCities.com, SWVAToday.com and Bristol Herald Courier are also not responsible for any injury or damage to any computer, modem or other electrical device as a result of participation in this Sweepstakes or downloading of any software or materials.  TriCities reserves the right to correct typographical or clerical errors in any Sweepstakes-related materials.  No more than the stated number of prizes will be awarded.  In the event that production, technical, seeding, programming or any other reasons cause more than the stated number of prizes as set forth in these Official Rules to be available and/or claimed, TriCities reserves the right to award only the stated number of prizes by a random drawing among all legitimate, un-awarded, eligible prize claims.

22. By accepting a prize, winners agree to award TriCities the right to publicize their names, photographs (including the use and appearance of winner’s photograph on TriCities web page), likenesses, biographical information, e-mail address, voices and details of winning for purposes of this and future promotions without further compensation, except for Tennessee residents.

23. TriCities reserves the right to prohibit any entrant from participating in the Sweepstakes if, at its sole discretion, TriCities finds such entrant to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes, or if such entrant repeatedly shows a disregard for, or attempts to circumvent, these Rules, or acts: (a) in a manner TriCities determines to be not fair or equitable; (b) with an intent to annoy, threaten or harass any other entrant or TriCities; or (c) in any other disruptive manner.  Any person attempting to defraud or tamper with this Sweepstakes in any way will be ineligible for prizes and may be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.  Any failure by the TriCities to enforce any of these Rules shall not constitute a waiver of such Rules. TriCities has neither made nor is responsible or liable for any warranty, representation, or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to any Prize, including but not limited to its quality, mechanical condition or fitness for a particular purpose.
