What to do with that old computer?
Posted On:May 14, 2008
What do you do with your old electronics?
Pitch it in the dumpster? Donate it to charity?
ETSU knows it’s an issue, so the school set up an eWaste Collection event today through Saturday. Go to the keyword box and type in eWaste.
Me? I admit to throwing an old pc into a dumpster as recently as a year ago. I felt guilty, kind of dirty, for doing it. It’s not great for the environment. But at that time, I didn’t know of another option.
Now, I do.

This is a great idea. Using old electronics to help others. I’m like Josh Smith, wished I knew about this before I tossed out that old printer.

I just take mine to Josh’s house, I don’t what he does with them after that? lol I’m guilty of dumping mine in the dump also, but, I didn’t know either, I give anything like that to Salvation Army, it’s a great way to help the community.

Josh,
I typed in eWaste and it said keyword not located. I have an old TV to dispose of. I thought that I heard they would be there Saturday morning at 9am for residential waste. Am I correct? If so, I will try to make that and the TruPoint Bank shredding at the same time.

“What to do with that old computer?” Or electronics in general?
Call 276-669-0565 in the Bristol area and I’ll come pick it up and I’ll recycle as much of it as possible. It has to fit in a car. I reuse some of it in my electrical/electronics classes or sometimes for donations.

Donate it to the Salvation Army and do a tax write off
