Three Rants, One Congress

First our leaders decided to give away some money to the taxpayers at the expense of – you guessed it – the taxpayers. Their hope is that we will spend it on – get this – domestic (American-made) goods. (That according to Bernanke)

Jody,
I have to agree with you one this one. The stimulus package sounds like a great idea, but if you think it through, one realizes that it won’t cure what ails the economy. Sure its nice to have a little extra money in hand, but most people I’ve talked to are going to use it to pay bills. Me included.
I haven’t a clue why Congress is getting involved in the steroid controversy. I think that all professional atheletes should be drug tested monthly and if they test positive, be immediately and permenently kicked out of sports. This would include forfeiture of all of the huge contracts that they have.
I have always been a critic of an office-holder running for another office. I have problems with incumbents running for the same office. They were elected to do a job, not to get elected again.
