According to Newsweek as much as half of Obama’s campaign contributions may be questionable – that is, several cases of multiple donations in smaller increments from a single person, which add up to a bigger donation than is legal, plus donations from fictitous persons, donations from questionable sources in the Middle East, blah blah blah. The RNC is making a big deal out of it. I guess it is sort of a big deal but frankly, I wish they would forget it for now and direct their attention to more worthwhile pursuits, like getting their candidate elected. If the donations turn out to be illegal, fine, prosecute, persecute, whatever – but do it later. They’re not going to be able to turn up anything firm in time to influence the election one way or the other so drop it – again, for now.
News flash – young people prefer Obama over McCain for President. Gee, really? Of COURSE they prefer the young, dynamic guy with all the promises to give away free stuff via government programs. They ALWAYS prefer the Democrat. Big woo. When was the last time the 18-21 year olds influenced an election? Move on.

I agree, Jody, about the contributions… what do they want, to disqualify Obama from running? Penalize him 30 electoral votes? Let the courts sort it out later.
I like the cartoon in the paper recently: “What do you think about ethics in government?“ “I think it would be a great idea!“
Now about the Democrats promising free giveaways… haven’t you noticed the Republicans always harp on that tune, yet what about all the free giveaways to the big corporations? At least the Democrats offer to spread it around. If anyone thinks the taxpayers are going to be any less screwed by the Republicans, they haven’t been paying attention.
Another thing I’ve always wondered… why is it illegal to buy votes? At least the voters get what they are promised up front. Usually they are promised everything, but get nothing… THAT should be illegal!
