For me, though, her sincerity or lack thereof was not the issue, though I admit I am curious as to what YOU think.
No, what went through my mind was the movie A League Of Their Own.

You are right, Chris - no actual tears fell - we were just treated to the gentle sobs, breath-catching, and pursed lips that all women recognize as “crying”.
I am not as convinced as you that it was contrived, but of course the possibilitly does exist. In either case, it certainly did not hurt her in the primary!
I am also not as convinced as you that, if nominated, Hillary cannot win. She will bring out the Bush-haters that are usually all talk and no action, and inspire misguided women to vote for her simply because she, too, is a woman. Stupid reason, but there it is. I hope, however, that you are right. I would rather see almost ANY candidate - liberal or conservative - occupying the White House. (The “almost” is for Huckabee’s sake. He scares me.)

Not to defend her because I absolutely will not vote for her. In fact If nominated this will be the second time in my life that I will vote Republican. Anyway, to be accurate she never cried. I do believe it was contrived and I base this on the softball question lobbed at her by a “freelance” photgrapher (wink wink).
That being said I was watching the coverage last night and all the networks showed examples of prior candidates becoming emotional in the past in front of cameras. The point being that it’s just not a Hillary thing. In her case it was a calculated move and damned if it didn’t work.
I hope the party realizes that by nominating her they are in effect giving the White House to the GOP. She cannot carry a single southern state and is way too polarizing to capture the independent vote. I am living proof of that and I think most would agree that I am much more liberal than conservative. I ain’t alone. Nominate Hillary and lose, it’s that simple.
