Fred in politics is another matter. You have to figure, though, that if Reagan could rise above his mediocre acting in B-movies, anything is possible.
Fred was a decent senator, and I was just about to let ENTERTAINER FRED die for good and give POLITICIAN FRED my attention and consideration. Then what does he do but pull a stunt like this one -

I don’t know if it’s just you or not, but I do know a candidate’s announcement is only one moment in a long season of political moments, sound bites, and photo ops leading up to the elecion. I also think a large number of the electorate are watching Leno and Letterman, like it or not, and a “serious” candidate can’t cater to the “serious” voters only. By the way, and you spelled candidacy wrong.

Actually I typed it wrong as opposed to spelled it wrong, but either way, it’s wrong. I have corrected it. Thanks for catching it.
My point, Susan, was that in my opinion, it belittles the office of the presidency to appear on entertainment shows. It has nothing to do with catering to “serious” voters. It has to do with the respect due the office and the election process.
