McCain’s Faceless Threat
Mar 06, 2008There is an awful lot of talk about whether Hillary or Obama would make a better president.
But who do you think has a better chance of beating McCain? After all, unless they can do that, the question of who would be a better leader is moot.
And what will it take to take McCain down?
I do not think McCain’s age will be a major factor, though many disagree with me. And there are certainly enough folks around who believe that going to Iraq and tackling terrorism head-on was the RIGHT thing to do, that his agreement with Bush on that end will only hurt him, I think, to a limited degree.
No, the main thing - maybe the only thing - that can kill McCain’s chances is not a Democrat candidate – ANY Democrat candidate. It is whoever the Perot turns out to be.
Time to Flip the Switch ON on Nuclear Power!
Dec 13, 2007When it comes to nuclear power, the biggest thing we have to fear is fear itself.
My hope is that, with plans for the first new nuclear plants in almost 30 years hitting the drawing board, maybe – just maybe – folks are starting to realize that when it comes to the public perception of nuclear power, we have been played like a violin by a master.
These new nuclear power plants promise the quickest and safest and most realistic way to move our country from one that is dependent on oil to one that is dependent on NO ONE for its entire energy picture. Oil, coal, natural gas – eventually they will all run out.
Renewable resources. Solar, wind and the like are great ideas but not even close to being ready or able to carry the energy load in this country in a way that is either effective or affordable. Nuclear, on the other hand, is here, is now, is ready and hopefully is finally about to be taken advantage of.
Iraq - We Ain’t Going Anywhere
Sep 28, 2007“GOP Senators Offer New Timeline for Iraq” - when I saw the headline today, I heaved a giant sigh.
A few months ago, I probably would have heaved my lunch. But I have become used to it and my reactions are a bit tamer these days.
Timeline, timeline, timeline - I got your timeline, right here:
We are not leaving. Ever. Never were, never will.
