Healthcare Reform & the Need for Speed
Dec 20, 2009 - 02:12 pmI am more than a little at sea when trying to understand why everyone is not as concerned as I am about the health care proposal being presented this week by Harry Reid and team. What strikes me is not the proposal itself – how can I be upset about something I know nothing about?
But it is THAT fact – it’s secrecy – that alarms me; the whole “But there’s no TIME to read it” attitude. And it is THAT with which I struggle, in an attempt to understand how anyone can NOT be alarmed, given the circumstances.
The Conservative Stereotype
Dec 13, 2009 - 01:12 pmStereotyping makes life easier. It makes thinking easier.
Many liberals – especially extremists – are drawn in by the ease of stereotyping conservatives. It is when that stereotype is challenged that their whole thought process is forced to change and adapt.
They hate that.
Do not think that the irony of above comments is lost on me. I realize that in making these assertions, I am stereotyping. That is why I deliberate used the word “many” in front of “liberals”. I know it is not all of them.
But let’s look at the ones that are in positions of power right now – they are for the most part (there’s that disclaimer again) extremists. And pigeonholing conservatives into one of three stereotypes is their habit.
Obama and the State Of Denial
Dec 08, 2009 - 12:12 amJust like that, Obama has disregarded the scandal over the manipulation of global-warming data.
Ignore it and it will go away seems to be the thought process.
Unfortunately, that may be exactly what happens. At this point, I don’t know WHAT it will take to get the public to sit up and realize the depth and breadth of the environmental scam that we are in the midst of.
Who Is the Best Scrooge Ever?
Dec 07, 2009 - 01:12 amNo doubt about it – it wouldn’t be Christmas without Dickens’s A Christmas Carol. But the questions is who, in your opinion, is the ultimate Ebenezer Scrooge??
Hey, Obama! Straighten Up!
Nov 16, 2009 - 10:11 pmWhat a dopey move. Bowing to a foreign leader. After the flack he took when he did it before the Saudi king, you would think he’d know better.
In the words of Steve Martin in his heyday, “But noooooooooooo.”
