Prison - Punishment or Rehabilitation?
Aug 25, 2009 - 11:08 pmI’ve been following the trials of a couple of particularly horrendous regional murders lately. No, it’s not a hobby. Just keeping an eye on the evil that exists in society. Usually it is quiet, often unnoticed, but sometimes it rears it’s ugly head for all to see.
These particular cases took my thinking down a path I want to share with you here and get your thoughts on.
It’s about prison. This isn’t a new question, but it IS one I think worthy of debate and consideration.

Reach out to each other. Not because they are told to. Not because they are forced to. But because that is what people do….
Let me clarify. That is what people do WHEN the government gets out of their way and let’s them do it.

We have Medicaid to protect the very poor. We have Medicare to protect the very old. Both systems are rife with corruption, mishandling, and waste, and both are run by the government.
