Obama and The HUH? Factor
May 18, 2009 - 11:05 pmIs it just me, or is the gobble-de-gook coming out of Washington these days even more gobble-de-gookey than usual?
I have a hard time deciphering a lot of Obama’s policies and ideas. Even when asked directly about a certain point or proposal, the answers coming from the President, his staff or his representatives always seem vague. Saying something without really saying anything seems to be reaching an all-time high.
Take Obama’s meeting with the Israeli Prime Minister, which resulted in Obama lobbing some serious threats and strict deadlines at Iran.
Kinda/sorta. I think. Maybe.
Pelosi Disaster
May 18, 2009 - 09:05 pmQuick! Somebody hand Pelosi a shovel. At this rate, she is going to break a nail if she keeps digging that hole with her hands!
Cancer, Close-Up (Know Your Enemy)
May 16, 2009 - 07:05 pm(Note: This blog is not politics as usual. It was originally posted on my Fabulous After 40 blog site. I wanted to get as much feedback as possible, so I am posting it here as well. Thanks for understanding.)
I watched Farrah’s Story last night (Friday). It is being rerun this weekend on the Oxygen Network. Did you see it?
There was a lot of controversy about the show, a sort of documentary filmed of Farrah Fawcett’s battle with cancer (anal, then liver). Some say that filming such private, personal moments is wrong, and that to do so for financial gain is a true sellout of the soul.
I remained undecided until I actually watched it. (What a concept, eh?)
Giving Christ the Boot
May 11, 2009 - 10:05 pmWhen I heard that the Christian Children’s Fund, founded by a minister in 1938, was dropping the “Christian” from their name and going with something more “global”, I was outraged. Here’s yet another example of man trying to cut God out of - - well, out of everything.
As a Christian, I was heartsick. But then I did a little homework, only to find that the “Christian” was taken out of the Christian Children’s Fund a long time ago. Only the name remained.
All Hail King Gore!
May 07, 2009 - 01:05 pmLet the celebration begin! Our state pols want to erect a statute of Al Gore. Could I BE more excited?
