I Got Your “Aha!” Moment Right Here…
Mar 20, 2009 - 10:03 pmIt happened as I was watching the highlights of President Obama’s visit to a late night talk show. I was wondering what in the world he was doing there and if this was the kind of “first” I kept hearing about between election day and inauguration day.
I don’t think this was what anyone had in mind.
Anyway, I was watching him be charming as always and other than the much-bally-hooed misspeak about Special Olympics (we all say something stupid occasionally, give him a break), he was smiling that winning smile and looking comfortable and cozy, just as he did all through his campaign.
Then it hit me. The Aha Moment.

Mar 19, 2009 - 10:03 pmYou entrust the care of your beloved dog to a dogsitter while you are away on vacation. You come home to find the dog – a house pet who only goes outside on a leash – was purposefully released unleashed into the outdoors by the sitter and has disappeared, probably forever. At whom do you direct your anger – the dog or the sitter?
Only a nut would be mad at the dog.
And While They Were All Distracted By The Economy….
Mar 11, 2009 - 11:03 pmOur new administration wants to open the lines of communication with “moderate” members of the Taliban. Should I tell him there are no moderate members of the Taliban, or do you want to? Obviously no one else has.
On top of that, he wants to cut the amount of money spent on our military.
On top of that, he has publicly declared that we are losing the war in Afghanistan – a comment that not only is highly debatable as to its truth and accuracy, but that is also a clear signal of weakness and uncertainty sent directly to those who would do us harm.
On top of that - -
California’s Secret Bailout Weapon? Marijuana!
Mar 04, 2009 - 12:03 amStick that in your pipe and smoke it. Literally.
There is a movement in California to tackle the state’s current financial problems by legalizing marijuana and taxing it. They claim it will bring in at least a billion dollars per year and create thousands of ‘green’ jobs.
They might as well. The state is in a fog already, both literally and figuratively.
Look, I am no fan of the idea of legalizing drugs, including marijuana. HOWEVER – this is the line in the proposed initiative that gave me pause:
Rush As Poster Boy?
Mar 03, 2009 - 04:03 pmSo here comes Rush Limbaugh, a loud and consistent conservative (not that there’s anything wrong with that), eloquently making his case for conservatism and suddenly, the media dubs him spokesman for us all. All conservatives, that is.
Well, he does, in fact, echo the sentiments of millions of conservative Americans, that neither makes him our Golden Boy, our hope for the future, nor our next best candidate. It doesn’t make him ANY of those things.
So why is the media so anxious to hang the label of Spokesperson for Conservatives on Limbaugh? Why all this extensive coverage of what was no more than a radio celebrity giving a speech? I’ll tell you why…
