DEBATING THE DEBATE - Blogging all day for your enjoyment…
Sep 26, 2008 - 11:09 amAt this point, things look hopeful that congress will come up with something firm by opening bell Monday morning, concerning the so-called economic crisis. I won’t get excited until I hear what they come up with, of course, and throughout the day and evening, we’ll talk about any details that eke out.
SHORTAGE, SCHMORTAGE
Sep 12, 2008 - 10:09 pmJust one question - does anyone really believe there is a gas shortage going on? Really?
Pig-In-A-Lipstick
Sep 11, 2008 - 07:09 pmGet it? Like Pig-in-a-blanket? Okay, sorry.
Let’s take a look at Obama in Virginia. Huh – sounds weird – “Obama in Virginia”… But as Boucher pointed out, he’s the first presidential nominee of ANY major party in nearly 50 years to court voters in the region. So that’s cool.
Anyhoo - - regardomg the “putting lipstick on a pig” line, I give him the benefit of the doubt – I really can’t imagine that he meant it as a slam to Palin. He’s too smart for a low blow like that. I suppose I can understand how it could be misinterpreted by some, but personally, I just can’t believe it was intentional. Just a really, really bad choice of words.
Sometimes that happens with politicians. Just because John McCain misspoke the bad guys names when he was in Iraq, I don’t believe for a minute that means he is so stupid that he genuinely does not know the difference between our allies and our enemies. It would be as silly to assume that, as it would be to assume Obama would call Palin a pig.
In Search of Smart Voters
Sep 06, 2008 - 11:09 amBoth locally and nationally there is a real effort taking place to get folks aged 18-21 to register and to vote.
I have no problem with that. Hey, if we can bring in a generation of Americans the majority of whom will actually EXERCISE THEIR RIGHT TO VOTE, that would be a fabulous thing.
