Glamour Gal For President!
Jan 25, 2008Hillary Clinton a glamour gal? You bet. My, have you seen her lately? A video clip of her today showed her with new polished eye makeup, fabulous highlights, wearing a shade of yellow that made her positively glow – she truly looks GREAT!
Face it, Hillary tends to look a little washed out and frumpy. But all of a sudden, she is glammin’ it up and frankly, I’m impressed.
With the way she looks, that is.
Issues, schmissues (for the moment, anyway)– let’s have some fun and take a look at how they look!
My Pastor, Myself
Jan 23, 2008How closely should we associate Barack Obama with the pastor of his church?
If you disagreed – sometimes strongly – with your own pastor, would you leave that particular church? Should you?
Exactly how uncomfortable are you with O’bama’s religiosity?
B.O. says, in reference to the reverend at his church, that he is “…provocative in ways that I’m not always comfortable with and in ways that I deeply disagree with occasionally,”
Is his response too mild? You decide.
This Is No Way To Elect A President!
Jan 23, 2008Is it worse this year, or have I just not been paying close enough attention?
In either case, now that primary season is upon us, it has become abundantly clear that this is no way to run an election!
Here are just a few of the changes that are surely long overdue. Feel free to expand on my list…
Kaine’s Baffling Appeal To Repeal
Jan 10, 2008Six months can be an eternity if you are, say, sitting in a jail cell. Or waiting for an answer to a proposal. Or living with someone who doesn’t bathe.
You get my drift.
But is six months long enough to tell if a new law is going to be effective? Tim Kaine seems to think so. Six months since the new legislation to punish reckless drivers with higher fees went into effect, Kaine has declared that the new fines are ineffective and should be repealed.
Is it just me or is the governor a little trigger-happy on the idea of getting rid of these fines? Why the hurry, especially when the fines punish only those citizens found guilty of endangering others on the roadways with their dangerous driving? We are not talking about fining nuns for being boring dressers – we are fining bad drivers for not following the rules of the road.
Something smells funny about this.
A Debate Gone to the Dogs
Jan 08, 2008In answer to the poll question on tricities.com “Do you think cities should have the right to regulate what kind of dog you own?”, as of this moment the results show 72% say NO, 25% say YES, and 2% fall into that infamous category of confused people who cannot make up their minds.
(Get the latest results on tricities.com home page)
(Aside: I always wondered why, if you are “undecided” and have no opinion, you would bother to answer the poll question at all…)
The question, of course, is prompted by the city of Johnson City considering a possible ban on owning pit bulls within the city limits.
To me, the answer here is a clear and obvious one…
