Every Breath You Take, performed by the Thought Police…
Nov 20, 2007The FBI reported today that “hate crimes” rose almost 8% last year.
Hate crime: when victims or property are targeted as a result of bias against a race, religion, ethnic or national origin, sexual orientation, or mental disability.
Punishment for a hate crime, as opposed to the same crime committed without the specified hate behind it, is two or three times more severe.
Now. Let’s think about that. If you mull this over and the words “thought police” DON’T come to mind, then you are purposefully avoiding them.
Money Isn’t Everything. It May Not Be Anything…
Nov 18, 2007I was reading a report here on tricities.com about “kidnapping” kids’ identities. You can read the details at this link if you have not yet done so:

The idea of being able to steal a child’s identity via their Social Security number and run up a mountain of trouble in their name is crazy. And the story brought to a head something that has been nagging at the corners of my logic for awhile now:
The disappearance of money.

On the other hand, every now and then, they say something interesting. Here are some quotes that caught my eye:

The Issue No One Wants
Nov 08, 2007Republican and Democratic candidates alike have zeroed in on a few issues that supposedly will decide the next Presidential election. Socialized medicine, the war on terror, and illegal immigration – important issues to be sure,.
But one issue that could have a dramatic impact on ALL the other issues is being ignored. No one wants it. It lies there ignored, stepped over. If just one candidate would pick it up, I would be thrilled. And I don’t thrill easily.
Out-of-control spending. Both parties are guilty. And we just sit back and let them. Baaah.
