Up and down a three-mile stretch of Main Street, from Porterfield Hwy. to Abingdon Cinemall, vendors dot the sidewalks with the best in local and carnival-style goodies, not to mention exciting souvenirs by local tradesmen. Enjoy home-made root beer and kettle corn, or treat yourself to a funnel cake or an authentic New York hot dog. Browse the wares of local artists and craftsmen, from candles to jewelry, on the lawn of the historic Martha Washington Inn.
Music fills the air nightly at the Main Street events tent on Barter Green where spectators can sing along with the best in bluegrass, country and traditional Celtic music. Or, simply stroll along the brick sidewalk and enjoy the sounds in passing. Parking is conveniently available along the street or in one of the various locations made available throughout town.
