No. Really? Surely not.
Was that your reaction, too? Okay, maybe as a tv special if you feel you really have to. But that they managed to come up with enough women who could honestly say “I didn’t know I was pregnant” (women past their 3rd or 4th month, that is) is horrifying!
Or is it just me?
Those of us over 40 remember television before “reality” set in. The Love Boat and Fantasy Island. Remington Steele and Mary Tyler Moore. Ya know – tv for entertainment. For escape.
This show surely sets a new low.
Some reality tv is okay – a few are even good. I love Project Runway, and I guess that sorta falls into the reality category.
Frankly if I wanted to see the kind of reality some of these show give me, I’d walk around the neighborhood looking in people’s windows. I feel just as sleazy watching it on tv as I probably would peeking in windows. Blech.
But THIS one – this “I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant” thing – truly does horrify me. Can there BE that many ridiculous women walking around free and unsupervised? Evidently so.
I can see how in extreme circumstance it might slip by one or of them. But that many of them? And how does the fact that a life is growing inside them continue to elude them for nine months? How is that even possible? I am embarrassed FOR them.
It is a sad state of affairs. I want my Remington Steele.
