Weber City’s Jim Ketron says he learned a lot about woodworking from his Grandfather, who used to like to piddle with wood. But, Jim’s turned into a whole lot more than just a piddler--or a whittler.

You can see some of Jim’s handywork on display at the Appalachian Arts Center.

It’s Adam’s mark on the local music scene. 11-year-old Adam Larkey sure isn’t fiddlin’ around. This young Unicoi Countian takes his bluegrass and old time music seriously.

See and hear Adam Larkey and Mountain Time tomorrow night, February 23rd at the Carter Fold near Hiltons, Virginia. For more information about Adam and the band, visit their website at http://www.adamlarkeyband.com

Gomer Pyle, USMC had a very successful five year run from 1964 to 1969. Of course, Jim Nabors played the laughable but lovable Private First Class, Gomer Pyle. But, awhile back, I got a chance to sit down with a couple of the co-stars of the show.

Local Entertainer, Trey Hensley is really on a roll these days! He just signed on with Creative Artists Agency in Nashville. He’s been in the Music City recently recording a big, new country project for 2008. Tonight at 9:00, he’ll play his country concert show with his band, Drivin’ Force at the Down Home in downtown Johnson City. Here’s a profile of the 17-year-old music dynamo when I caught up with him at the Bristol Mall Pickin’ Porch.

Lots of changes in store at Dollywood this season. New main entrance. New parking lots. But perhaps the biggest improvement is a move designed to save steps and shoe leather for the park’s millions of pedestrian visitors.
