Lance Likes The Beech
Nov 28, 2007One of the world’s most famous athletes has ties to our region. Lance Armstrong won the Tour De France an incredible seven times. But, it turns out, he got a lot of his training for those races by riding up one of the most picturesque peaks in our part of the country.

Nov 21, 2007If there was ever a “barnyard idol” competition, this man would probably win it “hooves down”. Just in time for Thanksgiving, meet a real ham.
Even Roane County singer/songwriter Jerry Isham’s last name says it all. It’s spelled, I-S-H-A-M. That’s right, “is ham”!
To get in touch with Jerry, call (865) 354-1060.

Nov 16, 2007It’s the best fruitcake I’ve ever tasted! But “The Fruitcake Man” does a lot more than just bear fruit. He shares fruit.
To get in touch with The Fruitcake Man, call Tom McCloud at (423) 474-2112.

Nov 12, 2007Dollywood’s annual Smokey Mountain Christmas celebration got underway over the weekend. I got a chance to unwrap the gift a little early last week and take a sneak peak at what’s under the tree at Dollywood this holiday season.
If you bring a new unwrapped toy to Santa’s workshop during the Smokey Mountain Christmas festival for the Toys for Tots campaign, you’ll receive five dollars off your admission ticket.
Remember, there’s a new main entrance now at Dollywood. See the website at http://www.dollywood.com for more details.
Also, the new attraction for next year, River Battle, is currently under construction next to the Mystery Mine.
And, Eagle Pass is also under construction which will provide a walkway between Timber Canyon and Craftsman’s Valley making the park a true loop for visitor pedestrians. When it’s completed, no more mile long lengthy walks to get from Timber Canyon around to the Tennessee Tornado! Thanks, Dollywood Officials for saving us some serious shoe leather in the future!
